The party's journey led them through the rolling hills and into the rugged expanse of the mountains once more. Amidst the towering peaks, they stumbled upon an ancient road, its weathered stones bearing testament to the passage of time. The road, carved into the mountainsides with remarkable craftsmanship, beckoned the adventurers forward, offering a path of relative ease amidst the challenging terrain.

Choosing to follow the road as it wound its way through the majestic mountains, the party made steady progress, their footsteps guided by the ancient route's course. As they traversed the winding path, it led them across deep ravines bridging the gaps between mountain ranges, facilitating their travel through the rugged landscapes of Barsoom.

Despite the monumental discovery of the ancient road, the day unfolded with a serene calmness, unmarred by any significant events or encounters. Yet, with each step along the ancient path, the team ventured further into the heart of the unknown, their spirits undaunted and their resolve unwavering as they continued their exploration of the mysterious realms that lay ahead.

The viral #dungeon23 challenge put forth by Sean McCoy https://seanmccoy.substack.com/p/dungeon23 is coming to an end as of December 31st. For myself and many others it has been apart of our daily lives, one room at a time. It’s gonna feel a little weird on the 1st when that aspect of my morning ritual goes away.  Like I’ve forgotten something, but can’t put a finger on what it was. So, I’ve decided to cobble together a few ideas for a project that will replace #dungeon23. I’m calling it #hexplore24 and I’ll give a “brief" outline of what that’ll entail.  The gist: 1) Exploration of an unknown territory. Grab your favorite hexcrawl generator!! 2) 1:1 time. One actual day = one game day. In other words, there are 366 days and you play one day per day. 3) No mindless “plot following”. There is no regular pre-scripted story. It is a sandbox game. In the embrace of Barsoom’s arid expanse, the rugged mountains rose like ancient titans, their peaks piercing the cerulean skies. Hrul Marak, Ptormed, Haj Uljat, and the enigmatic Khem journeyed through this formidable terrain, their every step resonating with the echoes of a dying world lost to time. From the walled town of Emtor, their sanctuary amidst the hills, the intrepid party ventured forth, guided by the relentless pursuit of discovery that defines this perilous expedition. With each passing hour, the jagged mountains loomed ever larger, their rocky visages a testament to the unforgiving nature of Barsoom’s landscape.
