The party ventured through the rugged mountains of Barsoom's unforgiving landscape, they stumbled upon an enigmatic sight—a tumbledown ancient temple nestled within the confines of a dormant volcano's crater. The temple's unique design and the molten lava font at its heart hinted at a history steeped in mystery and significance.

As they explored the temple's intricate ruins, their expedition took a perilous turn. Two batwinged, yellow-skinned beings known as Bai launched a surprise aerial assault. Yet, Khem, wielding his formidable Mentalist powers, unleashed a potent force that caused the Bai to plummet from the sky, their bodies meeting a swift end at the floor of the volcanic crater.

Following the unexpected encounter, Ptormed employed his tri-chorder to scrutinize the temple's architecture. His analysis unveiled the presence of two subterranean levels beneath the main structure, suggesting hidden chambers or passageways awaiting exploration. However, a startling realization dawned upon him—the party had inadvertently journeyed in the wrong direction throughout the day's expedition.

Armed with this revelation and intrigued by the mysteries unfolding within the ancient temple, the party resolved to alter their course. With their sights set on returning to Emtor the following day, they settled into their campsite within the crater, pondering the secrets that lay hidden amidst Barsoom's timeless landscapes and the enigmatic temple that beckoned them deeper into its ancient embrace.

The viral #dungeon23 challenge put forth by Sean McCoy https://seanmccoy.substack.com/p/dungeon23 is coming to an end as of December 31st. For myself and many others it has been apart of our daily lives, one room at a time. It’s gonna feel a little weird on the 1st when that aspect of my morning ritual goes away.  Like I’ve forgotten something, but can’t put a finger on what it was. So, I’ve decided to cobble together a few ideas for a project that will replace #dungeon23. I’m calling it #hexplore24 and I’ll give a “brief" outline of what that’ll entail.  The gist: 1) Exploration of an unknown territory. Grab your favorite hexcrawl generator!! 2) 1:1 time.
