The party retraced their steps through the familiar terrain of mountains and hills they had traversed on the second day of their expedition. The rugged landscapes echoed with the memories of their previous journey as they moved with purpose, knowing that Emtor was now just a day's journey away.


The day unfolded with a sense of tranquility and uneventfulness, a stark contrast to their earlier adventures filled with unexpected encounters and mysteries. As evening draped Barsoom's timeless expanse, the party set up camp amidst the familiar hills, taking a moment to rest and reflect on their nearing return to Emtor.


With the campfire casting a warm glow, they shared tales of their adventures, strategized for the final leg of their journey, and embraced the camaraderie that had strengthened their bond throughout the expedition. As nightfall settled, they settled into a restful slumber, anticipating the dawn that would herald their arrival in Emtor, barring any unforeseen challenges or obstacles that might arise in the unforgiving landscapes of Barsoom.

The viral #dungeon23 challenge put forth by Sean McCoy https://seanmccoy.substack.com/p/dungeon23 is coming to an end as of December 31st. For myself and many others it has been apart of our daily lives, one room at a time. It’s gonna feel a little weird on the 1st when that aspect of my morning ritual goes away.  Like I’ve forgotten something, but can’t put a finger on what it was. So, I’ve decided to cobble together a few ideas for a project that will replace #dungeon23. I’m calling it #hexplore24 and I’ll give a “brief" outline of what that’ll entail.  The gist: 1) Exploration of an unknown territory. Grab your favorite hexcrawl generator!! 2) 1:1 time.   Team Delta departed from the bustling streets of Emtor, their hearts set on rediscovering the ancient road that beckoned from the depths of the Martian wilderness. As they ventured forth into the untamed landscape, the rolling hills and shifting dunes bore witness to their passage, each step a testament to their unyielding resolve. Through the winding paths of the hills and the sandy expanse of the dunes, the party pressed onward, their eyes keen for any sign of the elusive road that lay hidden amidst the rugged terrain.
